FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is Iffli?

A voice running coach. A data field on your Garmin watch follows pace, heart rate and cadence; when something is worth saying, the iPhone app speaks a short instruction in your headphones. Press Lap to ask for the lap you just ran.

Which watches and phones does it work with?

Garmin Fenix 8 and Forerunner 970, with an iPhone on iOS 18. Android and other watch brands are not supported yet.

Does it work while I listen to music?

Yes. The coach speaks over your music. The microphone is never opened, so your headphones stay in full-quality stereo instead of dropping to phone-call quality.

Can I talk to the coach?

No, on purpose. The coach is triggered by a threshold on the watch or by a press on the Lap button, never by your voice. Each press also creates a real lap in your activity.

Does it change how my Garmin records my run?

No. Iffli is a data field, not a separate app, so multi-band GPS, your activity profiles, auto-lap and the FIT file stay exactly as Garmin made them.

What happens without mobile signal?

If the server has not answered within three seconds, the phone answers on its own with sentences built from the watch numbers. What it said is sent to your history once the network is back.

Which languages and units does the coach speak?

English and French, in metric or imperial units. Both are settings of your account.

Is Iffli a medical device?

No. Recovery is compared to your own baseline, and nothing about health is ever phrased as a diagnosis.

How do I get access?

Iffli is in early access, by invitation, while we test it on real runs. Join the waitlist and we will write when a place opens.
